Lynette Nangala Singleton is an Australian artist of Aboriginal origin and was born in 1970 in Alice Springs. She grew up in the Yuendumu community and studied for a degree at Yarara College in Alice Springs. Back in Yuendumu, she got married and left to live in Nyirripi.
In 2008, Lynette Nangala Singletonbegan painting for the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, a Yuendumu arts centre which aims to promote Aboriginal art across Australia. Her painting is inspired by stories told by her father and her grandfather, passed down from generation to generation in her family and in her community. Her artwork is closely linked to her land, her history and her family.
