Jorge Jurado

Born in: 1962

Jorge Jurado is a painter, born in 1962 in Columbia. He did his training at the Fine arts school in Cartagena, then left Columbia for New York, where he studied at the Art Students League. He then went back to his homeland, which is where he currently lives and works.

His artistic research is complex and in constant evolution. He went through various styles and trends, experimented with several techniques and materials, with the aim of finding the means of expression which would let him express his vision on art and life, through painting. Some of his work is abstract, others are realistic, but some are also a combination of both. An eclectic approach, which didn't prevent the artist from developing his own language.

Jorge Jurado's work has appealed to institutions, private collectors and galleries. Chosen by UNESCO in 2005, for an event to protect the environment, the creations of Jurado are part of various collections in Colombian organizations. They were also purchased by private collectors in South America, USA and Europe. Last but not least, the artist's work is regularly exhibited in Colombian galleries, USA, Germany and France.
