Born in 1947, Alain Maupuy is a French painter originally from Paris. His drawing skills led him to study architecture. His passion for painting came later on, and led him to joined the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva for five years. He then worked as a social worker and as a painting teacher. He currently lives in Herault.
His researches, are inspired in general by concrete subjects, they are transposed on a canvas in shapes ranging from semi-figurative and abstract, to cubism, in research of pure emotion. He works the shapes and the colors at the same time. An atmosphere of diffused light emanates from his canvases of subtly tinted whites.
