Biography

Raymond Hains (9 November 1926 - 28 October 2005) was a French artist and photographer. Raymond Hains is a master of virtual reality. He is an internationally recognized artist who has been standing out since the '50s through his unique vision of the world. The image and the text are at the center of his practice.

The artist tries to demonstrate that everything is a sign, whether it be names of people, places, their photos or pictures referring to them indirectly (by analogy, by homophony, etc). And as he has a great sense of humor and a sense of wonder, he offers us his version of the facts as a child would imposes his point of view in front of the adults: with a poetic touch.
