Marc Lepilleur

Born in: 1968

Translation in progress

He was born in 1968 in Switzerland. Marc Lepilleur follows first a training course in mechanical engineering in Paris then in Plastic Arts in Rennes. He creates his first workshop where he discovers gradually an interest for glass.

Afterwards he alternates training courses with Glassworker Art (CERFAV, Sars Pottery with Alès Vasicek etc.), with collective expositions, with shows (Maison et Objets) and private expositions (Nancy, Troyes, Bazouges).

In 2005, he received the honorary award of the Foundation Jetta Cuny in Germany as well as the Sculpture Prize from the city of Cholet in 2010.

His work takes several directions: a sculptural introspective and personal research, a work on objects and different realizations ordered by private people.

His researches turn to the representation of recurring fundamental themes like the body, the memory, the introspection, the Spirit, the desire, the destruction and the space.

He illustrates the construction of the human being by the representation of mental images, internal movements, fragments of sensations taken and condensed in blocks.
