Presentation

Combining elegance, sobriety, emotion… Claire Fréchet has made ceramic creation a savoir-vivre as much as a know-how. Her nomadic personality, a certain rigor and a joyful complicity with the elements combine for a unique artistic journey. She was first introduced to an indigenous community in Mexico in the "browning" of earthenware, a pre-Columbian technique that consists of polishing the clay with a fine agate stone before the first firing. A know-how that requires skill and precision. In Paris, she works with the finest earthenware, the purest pigments and conducts research on plants that could be used as fuel to control the imprint of fire ... In 2013, she finally put her suitcases in a troglodyte workshop, a cave superbly renovated Chantilly, in the South of the Oise, which serves as a setting for its timeless creation. All the objects that are born in the workshop are part of the collections. They are intended for food use and decoration Claire Fréchet has designed a collection of vases-sculptures exclusively for La Grange, inspired by the environment of the Chantilly forest. Vases covered with mosses and imaginary plant leathers near, sculptures with feminine forms draped in timeless bark… These ceramic creations are objects of tactile incantation, dreams awakened at the edge of the mineral world.
