Jop

Jop is a French artist born in 1977 in Boulogne Billancourt . He is a self-taught artist who currently lives in Paris.

Jop paints according to his mood and expresses himsefl through shapes and colors. His approach tends to create a visual that does not exist, not even in dreams, but which is the pure product of his emotions. According to the artist it is to make abstraction out of his whishes and throught, to let his hand fly by itself, taking possession of the painting. As he says it himself : "I do not paint what I see or what I imagine I paint what comes...I paint what I feel at that specific moment".

His paintings are abstract and full of surprises thanks to his pictorial richness. Just like Jop has lost himself in the middle of his own paintings, the observer is also invited to immerse himself in the canvas and to let himself go in the colors an shapes. Jop does not use his brush much.
