Biography

Richard Melloul lives in Paris.

In 1964, Richard Melloul in the Dalmas agency lab. In May 1968, he joins the Gamma Press Images agency lab, founded by Raymond Depardon, Jean Lattès and Gilles Caron.

In May 1973, Gamma splits up. The photographers take their archives and create a new agency, Sygma. It's the golden age of photojournalism.

In 1974, Richard Melloul joins the Sygma agency as a photographer, until 2002. Today he is an independent photographer.

Richard Melloul specializes in portraits of personalities and works with major personalities such as Marcello Mastrioanni, Gerard Depardieu, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Muhammed Ali, Vanessa Paradis, Charlotte Rampling, Michel Sardou, or Mireille Darc.
