Born in 1982 - France
The portrait artist Keith O’Connor was born in 1982 in Ireland and comes from a family of artists. The bright colours and striking contrasts which he depicts on canvas create an undeniable sense of dynamism and provoke powerful emotions. He often chooses to depict icons from the world of pop or politics, including Gandhi, Serge Gainsbourg and David Bowie, easily recognisable in the brightly-coloured broad brush strokes.
He likes to depict people he admires and who have had an effect on his life but he also manages to make us feel the charisma of anonymous figures in black and white.
