François Tortosa

François Tortosa seems to be making up for lost time, he is so completely caught up in his creative impulses. After a very long 22-year period of solitary confinement, François Tortosa devotes every moment to communicating the joy of this newfound freedom. The painting it was in prison that he had discovered it, it allowed him to escape without crossing the walls. Since its release, painting has been its identity, its profession, its means of saying and communicating, its new strength. Besides his paintings there are his notebooks which are at the same time works of art, books of stories, a private diary, an experiment and a permanent discovery. A dialogue also with those who have to walk and stop there. They are a way for the reader to be constantly solicited and questioned, even disturbed. Tortosa: it is the abundance of supports and materials, a richness that testifies to the desire to create.
