Mathilde Dauguet

French artist Mathilde Dauguet searches through her art and free creation to understand and interpret the world. The paintings and color pigments become the support of her philosophical thinking. Her painting is characterized by the strength of the lines, the contrasts, the rhythms and underlying reasons.

In search of inspiration and the calm she needs to create, Dauguet lived in Portugal for 7 years. In 2012, she completed the First Circle which she exhibited on several occasions in Lisbon, Paris and London. This collection is a study on the nature of the unconscious, of its language and the possible existence of a collective unconscious that might connect all the our souls. Refering to the Circle, a universal symbol of unity, the First Circle offers a positive perspective of the human condition.

Coming back to Paris in 2014, the artist prepares a new exhibition entitled Jeux de société, on the nature of human relations, its driving forces, and the interactions that influence and limit our freedom.
