Patrice Breteau

Born in: 1942

Translation in progress

Born in Paris in 1942, Patrice Breteau arrives in Florida August 19th, 1969 and becomes resident American. Self-taught artist, he launches into the pictorial art by creating oil on canvas.

Quickly giving up brushes and impressionistic style of its first paintings in favour of the airbrush, the acrylic and the geometrical forms, Breteau expresses its dream to release itself from the weightlessness, flow of gravity and opens towards the infinity.

The work of Breteau is expressed by means of movements and of colors, as well on the canvas as on the metal. Beyond the abstract arts, he excels new values, where the light plays a dominant role.

NASA's painter official, the universe, the space, the cosmos, the weightlessness are so many terms which represent the spirit and the atmosphere of the works of Breteau.
