Alain Quemper

Alain Quemper, born in 1947, son and grandson of sailors, started very young in the Photo Service of the newspaper l'Aurore. He was a reporter photographer, in his early days, at Agence Dalmas then at Agence Paris International Presse for many years. He thus photographed the biggest stars of cinema, show business and the political scene of the sixties - seventies. More than a job, photography is a passion for him. He totaled thirty-five years of filming in Brittany and on the coast, in the relentless search for the perfect image uniting light, framing, site, color and human being. Patiently, with a deep understanding of men and their lives, he fixed the daily life of sailors at sea and on land, their happiness and their anxieties, the thousand and one details that make a life of toil, adventure and courage. as well. When the media evoke Alain Quemper, they describe him as a "mouth hunter" or "as a long-distance marine reporter". A major exhibition of his Black and White photos was organized in Paris, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of May 68, on the events and personalities of the time. He is the author of the following works: “Paroles de Marins” with Editions Solar, “Mots de Mer” with Editions Dubriand. He has exhibited in many museums and exhibitions (Maritime Museum of La Rochelle, Maritime Museum of Paimpol, Nautical Shows, Agriculture and Fishing Fair, Center of La Villette), as well as in several towns in France. He is the author of multimedia shows in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries: “Paroles de Marins” and “Route Pêche” as well as two musicals: “Le Cabaret Marin”, performed by Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu, “Mots de Môme” performed by Pierre Hentz.
