The work in the studio has always caught the attention of Gérard Brun through the portrait and the expression based on body language and movement.
He started a light management job for over 7 years. The way in which the model's environment is illuminated makes it possible to bring the visitor's eye into a confidential or very open universe depending on the choice, for example chiaroscuro or fashion photography.
The light becomes like a kind of brush which underlines certain contours of the body and brings the observer to the essential point of the image that the photographer has chosen to express his perception of the model and the staging.
Light is a demanding way of shaping the image offered, a bit like the sculptor delivers an emotion through the way he works with the material and restores a model.
In the artistic process, beyond the technique, the important key is the complicity between the model and the photographer. They build together the photographic emotion.
Another form of artistic expression is combined with this research in the studio.
It is the spectacle photo with always this graphic research as much in the bodily attitude as in the apprehension of the light which sculpts the actor or the dancer.
