Nadia

Nadia is my artist name. This is the translation into Russian and Arabic of my first name. I am from the department of the North, born in 1948. I worked in the medico-social sector, first as a specialist educator with adolescents in great social and family difficulties, then as director of reception and support structures. 'accommodation for young minors placed by children's judges. I went to live in Côte d'Ivoire for a few years with my husband in the 1970s, we were teachers in a bush college. We were parents of four children. I started painting in 2005, after years of drawing practice. I had followed a "live model" course at the Beaux-Arts in Tourcoing for two years (1995-1997). In 2006, I moved to Piedne-Haute, a magnificent hilltop village in the Alpes Maritimes, which overlooks the Bévéra and Roya valleys. The light is magical and the skies poetic. I set up an artistic space for work and exhibition. I attended a workshop of amateur painters in Sospel for two years. I took a few lessons in pictorial techniques with an artist from Menton and I worked on my artistic approach with my friend Catherine Carlier, artist and plastic arts teacher in Tours. Today I am the companion of Patrick Jourde, musician and painter living in Vence. In 2015 and 2016, we had the opportunity to open a workshop-gallery in the Historic City of Vence and to participate in a few group exhibitions on the city.
