Presentation

A freelance illustrator for various New York publishers from 1980 to ’83, Jeffrey Bailey turns to decorative mural painting and leaves the U.S. for Europe where he spends a year in London before settling down in Paris in 1984.

J Bailey has since pursued a singular career: he has acquired over the years an expertise in the techniques of trompe-l’oeil and mural painting (illusionism, panoramas, ornamentation, patinas and other decorative finishes), executing projects principally in private homes, but also in hotels and other businesses. J Bailey also finds a niche as a painter of room portraits and room renderings for private clients as well as interior architects, decorators, and designers.

Not limiting himself to commissioned projects as his sole artistic expression, Jeffrey Bailey gives life to a stronger emotion through personal themes. Attracted to a wide variety of techniques (oils, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, engraving and sculpture), Jeffrey Bailey is always experimenting with new mixed media, and more recently has created collections of original one-of-a-kind art lamps.
