Jacques Perrodin

Born in 1942, son and grandson of a painter and fresco artist, Jacques Perrodin was introduced to painting very early on, but first turned to photography. There he learned three things: gaze, composition and light. It is also essential in painting and, on the death of his father, he first turned to pastel, working "on the motif", wherever he went, drawing his inspiration during his travels in Europe, and in North Africa. Oil painting came later, a more complex technique, "which locks in the canvas," he says. He likes working on the landscapes of Lyon and Brittany. It also offers a beautiful collection of pastels from live models.
