Claire Fanjul

Born in: 1986

Claire Fanjul is a French artist born in Liège (Belgium) in 1986. She studied at the Charles-de-Gaulle University Lille in the Humanities, Letters and Arts department.

The Ys Gallery (Brussels, Belgium) showed her works in 2008. And she got noticed by the Alfa Gallery (Paris, France) which dedicated her solo exhibition the following year, on the theme of reinterpreted logos.

In 2009 and in 2010, the Artegalore Gallery (Paris, France) presented her ink works in the context of two exhibitions devoted to contemporary design, while the luxury brand Ahilya (London, England) commissioned her a print on cashmere.

In parallel, her academic training allows her to deepen her knowledge of art history and to conduct an aesthetic reflection on her artistic practice in the context of a Phd thesis.

In September 2012, the magazine Hey! Modern art and pop culture published an interview with the artist and some of her drawings. Fooding asked her to illustrate their booklet of the Grand Fooding New York 2012. Recently, the agency Artegalore has solicited the artist to work on a designer table produced by Vitra. The work has been sold at an auction in Paris, for the benefit of the association La Source.
