Comer OBK

Comer is an artist born in 1973 in Paris. 1987 is the revelation! The bands, the zulus, the dance, the tag… A whole emulsion around a movement (Hip-Hop) which will give birth to five letters: COMER Five letters which will never leave him. Five letters which will make him, for years, a staunch activist. Known and recognized by his peers for his so-called “vandal” graffiti, he reveals himself artistically by obtaining orders for sports brands (Nike, Adidas, Converse…), for companies (Pernod Ricard, Artoyz…) or finally for communes or departments (Plaines communes, Chevilly la rue, the MAC of Créteil…). An approach to a more artistic graffiti, which leads him to be asked to make paintings. Canvases in which he tries to preserve the essence and the “primal cry” of graffiti. Exhibitions, auctions, conferences on the history of his discipline, he even became an author and publisher of books. The first: PARIS CITY Graffiti, a 300-page book, 2200 photos, which will be a great success. The second: Marked for life! 30 years of “vandal” graffiti, a 340-page autobiographical story that can serve as a social and cultural study of a whole era, a whole generation, a whole movement. His desire, through this new exercise and his other feats of arms, to share his experience, to bear a colorful testimony dedicated to this art which runs in his veins so much he has marked his life.
