Clodine Colomer

When she was ten, Clodine's father enrolled her in the local art school. Since then, she has not stopped painting, ranging from oil to charcoal or watercolor to Indian ink. At 18, she met Pablo Picasso by chance in Cannes. Not hesitating to approach him, she tells him about her desire for creation. The latter dedicated a drawing to her and, without knowing it, baptized her with her future artist name (Clodine instead of Claudine). At the time of her graduate studies, she turned to Fine Arts. After 5 years, she graduated with a national diploma in abstract engraving and became a professor of Fine Arts. While pursuing her career in teaching, she continues to create in parallel and to exhibit. Clodine painted with watercolors for many years before devoting herself to oil with a knife in 2004. Playing with flat areas, the artist spreads out the material with a precise gesture according to her moods. When traveling, Clodine walks through streets and paths and sketches what moves her. She fills her notebook with sketches and annotations before regaining the calm of the studio. His figurative paintings retrace the landscapes of south-eastern France with particular sensitivity. With modernity and emotion, she also escapes to Venice, Naples, Corsica, Paris and the Côte d'Azur. Clodine makes her art evolve and populates her paintings, sometimes with humor, with a gallery of characters caught on the spot (the "Papotes"). Everything is a source of inspiration for the artist: the city, nature, flowers, an attitude, graphics, an assemblage of colors… She has only one objective: to paint for pleasure and to please. Clodine now devotes herself exclusively to her painting and exhibits her works in France and abroad.
