Presentation

“Loneliness has always been a creative process for me. It's the playground for the many characters who evolve in me. I paint them when they allow me and before they go back to their business. "

A graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Reims, Lilas Blano first tried his hand at advertising, then at animation in the AMBLIMATION studios of Steven Spielberg and WARNER BROS in London, but it was towards drawing and the painting she decides to turn.

First, in Montpellier, she is inspired by life outside, the comings and goings of the common people; the one who, like everyone else, is not like the others. At the bend of a moment, "hello" "Oh la la! "Goodbye", the eye catches the furtive attitude and its nervous brush immortalizes it. This reveals an original universe with warm colors, generous shapes, marked by a strong and unique graphic style.

“Drawing is essential in my life, it imposes itself on me and I cannot ignore it. "

In Luxembourg, Lilas returns to pure graphics. A fight then begins between the white of the paper and the artistic soul. For only weapon: charcoal. He fidgets, he squeals, he gives way, he sets out again, he seeks to open the doors of the interior universe, and explores it.

Back in Reims, and back on the canvas, with her brushes, Lilas penetrates the interiors of her imagination to observe couples in love, climbs onto the roofs to surprise "lovebirds". Everyone in their privacy is surprised by this intrusive photographer who seeks to discover the secret ... The love, the cozy, the touching, sometimes the vaudevillesque, the pinching, the very one that leads us to no longer be ourselves, and who sometimes gives us wings ...

Today, enriching his canvas more and more, Lilas spontaneously captures the individuals who offer themselves to his field of vision. Often feminine, they touch our present, sometimes enter it, then fade away, and reappear alone or accompanied. The spectator looks at them and they observe us.

"Thanks to my wand of burnt wood, I can see them. Then with pigments and oil, I fix them! "
