Isabel Ollange

Isabel Ollange, born Isabelle Paulin, was born in April 1966 in Neuvic on the island of Dordogne. She grew up in the Périgourdine countryside, far from the hustle and bustle of the city....far from the schools of Fine Arts too.

The little girl likes to play with colours, looking for shades, associations, vibrations, contrasts.

His environment: the fields, the forest, the small village of his grandparents. The proximity of this land that she did not perceive then, will catch up with her and is now reborn in many of her mineral paintings.

Painting has not imposed itself as an obvious fact, but creation is within it, in the image of her Spanish grandfather, artist and creator at his time. The attraction for painting was born from a photo of her son that she caught herself reproducing on a small canvas with a few oil tubes. Encouraged by her environment, she quickly bought a footbridge. The need to learn the techniques then arises. She joined an association, and for 5 years she painted alongside Gabriel Fontaine, a professional painter of international renown. The latter brings him the technique, but his words, his lighting, his gaze allow him to externalize sensations, impressions, and emotions.

Today, abstract painting, rich in material, worked with a knife and/or brush is his favorite field. For more than 11 years, she has been constantly searching for vibrations, contrasts, lights, material effects and various paths that allow her to transmit strength and vitality, or on the contrary sobriety and elegance. She likes to use various media to create reliefs that she exploits according to her desires, the abstract leading her to escape the real world.

Large formats or triptychs offer him a great freedom of movement, often upward, with often a very present focus as an anchor point.

She is particularly fond of oil, which opens up another dimension to her creations through the richness of pigments, but also the need for drying time, which allows her to come back again and again to defined areas. Solvent fragrances are all elements that contribute to the exploration of this infinite inner world. She also uses acrylic but her preference remains oil.

She likes to think that everyone can read her paintings in a personal way that is adapted to her own experience and feelings, and therefore in very different ways.
