Lorant Pomarès

Lorant Pomares was born on October 12th, 1964 in Toulon in the Var is a representational and expressionistic abstract painter.

Here is a small biography of him written by her friend Cristina de Dolce Acqua (collector):

He is also a musician and practises the photography. Dice the age of his 13 years, he puts itself in the drawing. He attended the class of the Fine arts of Toulon during 5 years. These various mediums feed his pictorial practice.

He claims to be as "popular artist" so rehabilitating the aristocracy and the dignity of the humble which addresses all contrary to the avant-gardist culture which aims to be elitist.

In 1984 he begins three series of pastels.

In 1986 he exposes for the first time to the MJC of Belgarde, Aix-en-Provence.

In 1988 he puts itself in the oil paint (onPainting).

He exposes then, in various cities among which Montpellier, Aix-en-Provence.

A long work of formal search in the secret of his workshop follows to end in compositions of often constructivist influence, operatic abstraction or abstract expressionism today and what often it conjugates with representational motives.

Quite recently he occurred in Toulon in to the Workshop of Formerly in 2017, to the Association " Cultures et Expressions cette même année, à l' Espace culturel du " Small Chicago in April, 2018. Universe and dreamlike climates, luminous intensity of aplats encircled with black (as the lead bounding the stained-glass windows of cathedrals), intimist scenes, Lorant Pomares painted all the pallet of the feelings:

The title of his works " The Minotaur ", "Cupid's darts", "Naiad", "Siren" testify of its taste for the Greek mythology, as he is also in the permanent evocation of the God " Argos " with the multiple eyes there:
