Drag

Drag is a graffiti artist born at the end of the 70s. Self-taught, he began graffiti in the 90s with at that time a fixed idea in mind: the tag and nothing else. An approach assumed to be the opposite of what is now pompously called Street Art ”!

Since his first bomb in hand, he affixes and declines his signature on all Parisian public space but also on that of the main European capitals, not to mention the province that he likes to travel.

Member of the most emblematic collectives of recent years, Drag has been able to develop in parallel a universe of his own that he stages on canvas. Passionate about French dialogues of character à la Audiard, Verneuil, and other Grangier and old French films from the 30s to the 90s, he likes to recreate a typically “Parisian titi” atmosphere by telling stories thanks to a clever mix of atmospheres from the street of today and that of yesterday by including actors, singers such as Gabin, Lino Ventura, Gainsbourg, Brassens and by mixing them with current codes.

In his work, Drag also takes pleasure in playing with a recurring character that he triturates in all directions: “the rabbit of the Paris metro.” He perfectly represents his vision of the world with the use of the human in a cage. for a six-week-old rabbit. ”Drag's canvases are real playful treasure hunts, where our gaze can happily be lost because the scenes represented are so rich in humor and derision on our modern society.
