OOX

Jérôme Le Franc aka OOX, born in 1972, is a nascent artist of the urban art scene. Self-taught painter, he is a curious traveler. He currently resides in Vannes in Brittany, his hometown to which he returned after 15 years of living abroad, in Barcelona and Mexico DF where he notably met the murals of Diego Ribera and Siqueiros. After many years of journalism, he feels the need to move from storytelling to creation. He still has the same need to bear witness, to freeze and transmit stories. Since 2014, the year of its launch, it has found codes of Mexican muralism in street art. Street art is also a way of getting involved in his territory and his original Breton culture that he explores and revisits in order to try to understand it, better appreciate it and transmit it. With aerosol and acrylic paint, he alternates between painting on canvas and exterior creations. He likes to play with places to arouse positive emotions, with humor or to evoke the past with nostalgia, to paint the animals of his ecosystem and the men who made stories big and small, to evoke their gestures and know-how. He likes to explore the border between tradition and modernity.
