Ségolène Hochart. I was born in Lille in 1981. Since the age of 5 I draw. I have always drawn the same shapes. Horses, in profile, still the same. Only the technique has evolved over the years. These shapes guide me, put a frame on the blank canvas and my emotions do the rest.
People often ask me why I always draw horses. I think it's not just to “worship” the animal that I'm drawing it, but maybe more for what it represents: ardor, freedom, sensitivity, vital energy. All that, ultimately, serves to savor my own existence.
I have always drawn these horses when my emotions are too strong or when I need to fill a void.
