Nathalie Du Merle

Born in 1972 in Bourges Nathalie du Merle now practices painting in the Paris region. In each of the stages that have marked his life the visual arts have always been present. Travel, nature and a passion for the arts influence his character and his vision of life. 

She has practiced sculpture for a long time, but it is today with a canvas and acrylic that she expresses her view of freedom: "Painting responds to my share of dreams, my taste for escape and freedom". Even if freedom remains a vague concept, it is something very natural and obvious to represent. 

Bright colors with happiness and joy and a play of shapes that seems to slip from the canvas to escape: "I like the freedom of movement on the canvas, the fluidity and the mixture of colors and textures. I let my emotions show through in my work, I let my imagination run free and I invite the viewer to do the same. There are no limits, only those imposed by the dimensions of the canvas, but I like to think that we can let the imagination continue the movement endlessly outside the frame.
