Stéphanie Lecomte

Stéphanie Lecomte was in Paris in 1968.

After studying music at the Conservatoire de Boulogne (92), in violin class, she passed the Baccalauréat Arts et Lettres exams in 1987.

As a student in a preparatory workshop for the competitions of the grandes écoles d'art, she was admitted to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris in 1988.

Begins painting on wood, on the theme of doors and windows, for five years.

She travels to Rome, with her teachers Georges Jeanclos and Pierre Carron, for a workshop work on Nicolas Poussin, then graduates in 1993.

Stéphanie Lecomte exhibits in the Hauts de Seine, in a gallery in Paris, rue des Beaux-arts, rue de Charonne, and participates in several group exhibitions in the capital and in the provinces.

Back from a trip to Egypt, she breaks with the interiors of doors and windows, painted on wood, she discovers the grain of the canvas, and goes to exhibit in Morocco, in Fez and Marrakech, for several years.

On her return to France, deeply marked by the desert, Stéphanie Lecomte took the decision to engrave it into her canvases, whatever the themes. Light being the common denominator of all her works.

She exhibits again in Paris, and in the provinces, in contemporary art markets as well as in galleries in the USA and in Japan, in private collections.

Her approach is linked to music, its rhythms and silences.
By striving to retain the essential, she strives to retain the essential.
