Stéphane Bellanger, a photographer who draws.

The “traced” photographic series is a post-photographic experience where the image cites reality, without being so. Tracé is an itinerary, a development of the real and the supposed. The images suggest a reality where the stake is no longer the visible, but a reflection, the exploration of the visible.

The "natural" image is no longer enough, like a painter, Stéphane appropriates each snapshot and by the meticulous gesture, traces, re-draws, reveals, reinvents an image, a perception.

“This experience started with nature. In this garden, and in this wood where I will breathe. Take the time to observe to admire these changes of contrasting colors, of light, of what lives, what dies, what is born.

To want to show what surrounds us, not as a simple photograph of strolling, but as a trace, a detail, an outline, a light, a fragility ”

Along with his personal research and creations, Stéphane works regularly with artists and creatives, various cultural organizations, communities and specialized magazines.

Stéphane lives in Nantes.
