Presentation
Bruno Ruhf is a French photographer. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Strasbourg, but did not agree with the teaching delivered in the institution. He ended by giving up his studies and left to Bangladesh, where he stayed for several years. There, misery and floods creates a profusion of colors and shapes. The walls of the capital, Dhaka, were a manuscript for the artist who tried to decipher it through photography. Gaffiti, cracked walls and faded posters are his source of inspiration.
Later on, Bangladeshi concrete and rust were replaced by simple black acrylics. Through this ascetic artistic approach, the artist reveals what is already there, what emerges from the encounter of paint and the tearing of paper. His smaller sized pieces are done on credit cards, which the artist munipulates carefully, until the work appears at the turn of the unexpected.
Bruno Ruhf has participated in a dozen exhibitions and continues exhibiting his work regularly in France.
