Presentation
Davide Monteleone was born in 1974 in Italy. He started and abandoned later on, his studies in engineering and went to live in the US and UK, where he became interested in photography and journalism.
In the year 2000, back in Italy, he began studying photography and working for famous Italian magazines. By the end of 2001, he returned to Moscow, where he settled until 2003, working as a correspondent for the Contrasto photo agency. He began working regularly for renowned national and international journals such as D, Io Donna, Espresso, The New York Times, Time, Stern and The New Yorker, among others. His work as a photojournalism has been praised many times by critics. He has received the World Press Photo Prize in 2007 and 2009 as well as the International Photo Award in 2008.
In recent years, he began exhibiting and teaching, in parallel to his editorial work. After working during 10 years for Contrasto, Monteleone joined VII Photo. He currently lives in Moscow.
