Miki Meguro

Born in Tokyo, Japan. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Tokyo. Miki Meguro is an artist based in Tokyo.

Since 1998, Miki Meguro has organized numerous solo and group exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, London, Berlin, etc ... She has participated in international art fairs: the “Red Dot Art Fair” in Miami in 2013 but also the “Art Shopping” in Paris every year since 2014. She also currently organizes collaboration events with musicians. His paintings show the inner world of his life, drawing inspiration from music, human relationships, nature and contemporary society. It is expressed by using acrylic paint mixed with various natural and artificial materials such as oils, resin, paper, wood, metal and also by inserting objects such as screws, metal wires on various supports, canvases but today mainly on wood panels.

The tree has been my main theme since 1995. The tree is the symbol of “life” for me. The roots go deeper into the ground, the branches grow towards the sky. I want people to live as one energetic tree, taking many paths as do the branches of the tree.The theme of roses is for me the symbol of “love”. There are many types of love. Love makes us happy, painful, peaceful, passionate, etc. It is something that embraces the whole world. We have been influenced by various feelings related to our experiences and relationships with others. These feelings give us a lot of reflections and lead us to the new world.

The landscapes and mixed media present visions inspired by Japanese society. They represent nature and chaotic society, especially in Tokyo.

She has recently started to create a new style of abstract painting, based on the concept of society, nature and its inner world, using various textures and colors.
