Arnaldo Coen

The painter, sculptor, set designer and illustrator Coen Arnaldo was born in Mexico in 1940. Self-taught, he began painting in 1956 under the leadership of Diego Rivera, then he studied graphic design with Gordon Jones. He is part of the abstract expressionist movement but begins to integrate figurative elements, flirting with fantasy. He is one of the founders of the Salón Independiente and exhibits sculptures of female torsos in acrylic there. .
