Thanks to her work, she was granted the scholarship Jóvenes Creadores by FONCA and the Honorable Mention in Premio Nacional de Pintura José Atanasio Monroy. In 2018, she was selected to participate at the prestigious Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial in its XVIII edition. The Tamayo Biennial is the painting contest par excellence in Mexico.

Paulina's artwork is held in the Milenio Art Collection, promoted by "Milenio", one of the leading newspapers of Mexico. The Collection was created in 2013 with the aim of promoting the contemporary Mexican painting.

She was also selected to participate at the exhibition "100 artists, 100 covers of Milenio Diario", which presents a hundred of covers of the newspaper intervened by other artists, among which are some of the most prominent contemporary Mexican art. The exhibition was presented at the Museo de América in Madrid in February 2018.

Paulina Jaimes is considered one of the main Mexican emerging artists. The theme of the body has become an essential part of her work, as it allows her to get to know relevant aspects of her human condition. Although she tends to figurative art, there is a concern and insistence on being brutal with each character she portraits. Through oil and glazes, and between coloured brushstrokes that tend to defragment, Paulina Jaimes shows the vulnerable condition of the body, before a world that is surprisingly unstable.

Her portraits have an enormous capacity for capturing and psychologically penetrating the viewer. They are profoundly disturbing and provoke the spectator a reaction as they to a dramatic reality.

Paulina's characters are neorealist and marginal, in them, the simulation of violence and exhibition of emotions are a way of expressing feelings, which abruptly oppose the world of superficial images or those of conventional beauty in complacent poses.
