Presentation

Linda Moufadil was born in 1973 in Rabat, Morocco. She comes from a double culture, Moroccan and Norwegian.

She graduated from the Carpenter Academy in 1998 after 4 years of Master's studies at the Penninghen Academy. As a hyperrealist painter, her influences include great masters such as Caravaggio, Vermeer, Gerhard Richter, Richard Estes, Claudio Bravo and Claude Yvel. Most of his inspirations are born out of instantaneous moments of everyday life, whether it is during a break in a café, on the way to the city: these moments are: for a moment, the light and the situation are logical, producing a brief moment of clarity and perfection, a type of film, always his personal film. What she is looking for to capture as accurately as possible. A painting with very fine and concise tracings, she explores the classical concepts of image (landscape, street scenes and still life). Although photographs are used as a starting point in the painting process, the intention is not to fool the eye but to create images that are logical and in one piece, allowing space for interpretation.

She is a hyperrealist cityscape artist, who uses the increased technological possibilities, inherent in it to create stunning cityscapes painted in oil on canvas. She composes through a simple image that contains the most evocative and powerful aspects of each image; enhancing the reality of any given location in a more striking scene and complete with poetry.

Thus the goal is to realize a strong and independent visual idea, not a slavish copy. It has the art of challenging, of inciting curiosity, even of diverting from the everyday. Her production shows a certain virtuosity, but is by no means incidental or anecdotal. She even exudes a certain magnetism. The artist works from several photographs that she makes herself, from which she takes the useful elements to structure her painting. This is followed by a very meticulous work, based on precise sketches and a skilful brushstroke, so important are the details.

She finds much of her inspiration in urban landscapes through various travels. "I am attracted by everything that man does and especially mobility, an obviousness". For example, "the car fascinates me because the mechanical complex is visible and therefore easy to understand," she explains. "People who wait in cafés say a lot about it. "I'm fascinated by this seemingly immeasurable expectation.
