Josep Blanché

Josep Blanché was born in Gualba (Barcelona) in 1950. He began by studying art at the Municipal School of Fine Arts in Girona and then completed his artistic training by integrating the Fine Arts of Barcelona Llotja. In addition to his career at the School of Arts and Crafts of Barcelona, he follows the training of artistic jewelry techniques at the School of Jewelry of Catalonia. Finally, he also studies the technique of ceramics in the studio of Juan Lozano in Esparraguera and Graupera in Breda. For the centenary of Real Circulo Artistico Barcelona, he received the commemorative Silver Medal of the oil painting competition. He exhibits mainly in Spain, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland. It is through these countries that we find his works, bought by collectors as well as by art lovers. His style - geometric compositions sometimes expressing a certain tenderness and sometimes a certain daring - tends to reflect the accelerated lifestyle of today's generation and it is undoubtedly for this reason that he appeals to the public so much. “My technique is a search for simplicity. I paint in acrylic, composing my works with the three mother figures of geometry, namely the square, the triangle and the circle; and with the three primary colors, namely yellow, red and blue. I glue from newspaper and usually apply paint stains with pieces of plastic in the shape of spatulas. I choose to put dark colors below and light and bright colors above in order to make my painting “vibrate”, to create a certain “music”. Smooth spaces are like “silences” which would highlight “noisy” spaces, ie the most worked areas. For me, painting is establishing a dialogue between the painting and me. A dialogue that helps me look for ways to pour my feelings, feelings that I would like to share with those who contemplate my works. "
