Mira Nameth

Translation in progress

Visual relationships between seemingly contradictory elements intrigue Mira Nameth. She finds that the most striking images stem from the tension between opposing forces. There is a narrative of control and release that occurs when they strive to share a space – black and white, fluidity and structure, diffusion and preciseness, beauty and threat. For her latest work, she started by taking a different view on the world, an outside view. The work could at first glance appear abstract, but depicts the beauty of icy landscapes – including disturbingly large masses of cracked ice. It shows how small and insignificant we as people are. This exhibition is both an ode to earth and its beauty, and a warning – a glimpse of a possibly dystopian future. Mira Nameth is an award-winning illustrator, designer and art director. She has been commissioned by Vogue, Harrods, Absolut Vodka, Random House and many others.
