Andrea Fraschina was born in 1971 in Lugano, a city located in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland.

He painted from an early age but left to study Political Science in Lausanne and subsequently held various positions in international companies.

Today he lives and works in Switzerland. Andrea Fraschina Aka ArtbyFrask is a self-taught artist, his painting draws its energy from the 'do it yourself' punk philosophy of the 70s, a mix of styles and 80s hip-hop. These underground cultures share the same revolutionary spirit and rebel whose creative impulses that operate there come directly from the street. He collaborates with music groups who project his paintings at concerts and use his designs for their logos; for him painting and music are inseparable. His painting is part of the big family of abstract painting.

ArtbyFrask uses material collected from warehouses and recycles them. He creates surfaces for his paintings with paper, cardboard, metal, on which he projects spray and other acrylic paints, which he scratches, polishes, nails, transforms. On his abstract canvases it is a raw and improvised energy and at the same time channeled towards his objectives. It is the fun of 'Spray and Splatch it' through which ArtbyFrask paints its own urban environments, its walls, its buildings, its metro stations and tries to illustrate the interaction of the urban with and on individuals.

Currently, Andrea is working on a set of ten paintings in a 30X30cm format entitled 'Sound of the Town'. Each painting, the size of which is that of a vinyl record sleeve, can exist on its own and inside the same fresco. In September 2020, he will participate in the Contemporary Art Fair Lausanne Art Fair represented by the NdF Gallery. Always in connection with the musical universe, he plans to collaborate with a musician and should sign several record covers in 2020. ArtbyFrask's works are part of private and public collections, he is represented by the NDF Gallery (Switzerland).
