Born in 1972 in Togo, Papisco Kudzi is above all a primitive artist. Of course, the Vienna School of Fine Arts taught him the basics of technique, but as for the expression itself, it belongs only to the artist. Art is for him a means of expression, not an aesthetic composition. And in the manner of a broken, violent, brutal language, his paintings without tenderness express the contemporary world.
After numerous international exhibitions, the artist moved to the United States in 2002. His work seems to correspond to a certain extent that of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
