Flora McLachlan is an English artist, born in West Sussex in 1974. She studied Art at the Brighton College of Technology and completed a degree in Illustration at the Hertfordshire College in 1999.
Flora McLachlan's etchings and paintings have a memorable presence, impregnated with a haunting sense of poetry. Her work is carefully structured, inspired by myths and legends drawn from her memories of her English literature studies.
However, the artist prefers engraving, which offers her the propitious environment to get inspired. Flora McLachlan tries to depict a magical environment by imagining the hidden sides of the landscapes
that surrounds her.
In 2008 Flora was elected Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painters. With which she regularly exhibits since 2005.
