Jordan Sparkes

Born in 1993 in Bristol, England, Jordan Sparkes is a British artist photographer working in his hometown. Self-taught photographer artist Jordan Sparkes has no training in photography. Currently working as a photographer in Roamers and Seekers Lifestyle Store, a ready-to-wear boutique, he produces besides his profession more artistic photographs representing landscapes.

The artist photographs natural and urban landscapes. In addition, he also does portraits. Inspired by nature and abstract art, his photographs in color or black and white represent all the force of nature and what the world represents to him.

The abstraction present in the photos is reflected in the effect of movement illustrated in several of his photographs such as for example his works in the series, “A Forest's Portrait" and “A Coast's Portrait". His photographs translate an effect of movement, so nature seems alive. The viewer is drawn to the power of nature.

Jordan Sparkes plays with our perception and motion blur. The photographs appear to have been taken in motion. The artist takes his photographs during his travels, moving from one end of his journey to the other and his movements are visible within his works.

The artist also takes less abstract photographs of his travels. The latter represent mountainous or maritime landscapes.
