Presentation

Tim Taylor is an artist living in the Northern Marianas Islands who holds a master’s degree in studio art from The Claremont Graduate Schoolin Southern California. Taylor went straight to medical school after art school, and while earning the M.D., he continued to cast bronze and paint. The med school gave him space in the George Washington University Art department, but art tugged on Taylor too much, and it wasn’t long beforethere was dirt under the fingernails again. After his MD, Taylor became an Apprenticeat the Johnson Atelier where he was commissioned to work on Andrew Pytinski’s “Horsemen”. At the time, Johnson was still pouring hot metal - Segal’s “Breadline” was also being produced on the“Grounds for Sculpture” in New Jersey, USA.

Tim Taylor was a Resident at the Wassard Elea Refugium for Artists and Scholars in 2007, and has returned several times since. It is frequented also by philosophers, writers, musicians and other artists; Taylor has some interest in the aesthetics that art critics presume to identify with. In 2008, the artist moved out of the US, relocating to a large studio in a Micronesian jungle, where he sculpted four large cement forms. He placed them on a plain at the very edge of the Pacific Ocean, an island paradise. Then, after filming the production of the jungle “installation”, he took the footage to the New York Film Academy, graduating in 2012 with an MFA.

2018 exhibit highlights include shows in Vienna, Paris and Dubai. (“Contemporary Art and Artists Today” in the Modern Art Museum and Gallery Museum, Austria, and Gem Art’s Salon Art Shopping Louvre Carousel, France). Taylor’s art is also widely displayed in digital formats internationally by New York City galleries Artifact and Art Productions. Among other 2018 awards, Tim Taylor is a nominatee in several categories at the 2018 Global Arts Awards in Dubai, and is one of only twenty nominees whose art will be exhibited. In 2018, the artist’s workis published in “Art Professionals”, “The First Berliner 2018”, and “The Art Market and Successful Contemporary Art” which goes to print in the Winter.
