Christophe Jacrot

Biography

A fan of photography since adolescence, Christophe Jacrot mainly captures natural and urban landscapes shaped by bad weather. His works highlight extreme climatic conditions: cities can be seen behind dripping glass or under a thick coat of snow.

In 2012, Christophe Jacrot discovered New York plunged into darkness after Hurricane Sandy. He walks the deserted streets, without electricity, lit only by car lights and produces the series 'New York in Black'. Since then, the artist has traveled to numerous megacities around the world to capture their beauty in 'bad weather'. More recently, the artist has produced several series magnifying natural landscapes buried in snow from Iceland to Siberia via Greenland and Bavaria.
