Presentation
Aba Linus is a multidisciplinary artist trained from Benue State, Nigeria, based in Abuja. He graduated with a Bachelor of Art from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello Zaria University majoring in painting. Linus' works are expressions of his creative exploration, which present a confluence of lived human experiences, conversation and interaction.
The visuality of my paintings aims to bring the tangibility that people are the product of another man's ideology.
Artist statement
My paintings stem from my encounter with human society and the psychology that affects our daily encounters with matter, time and space. With the use of the acrylic medium, I try to paint images that express fundamental and necessary elements of the human experience. Working through a variety of themes - oppression, depression, loneliness, love, all gravitating towards figurative abstract realism.
I see my painting as an observation and a means of proposing an open discussion. As they are not intended to answer any question or intended to modify human behavior.
