Presentation

Louis Toffoli is a French painter, born in Trieste, Italy, on October 16, 1907. Of an Italian father and a Slovenian mother, he died February 18, 1999 in Paris.

Louis Toffoli painted what he liked and what he felt. The painter refused to take the easy way and did not accept any compromise. He searched for an uncommon inner truth, the use of colors and of vivacious lights in his paintings made his artwork convey emotion, delighting the spectators.

Toffoli's pictorial expression was characterized by a powerful observation of human gesture, of picturesque scenarios or landscapes marked by man. Just like a chamber orchestra evokes the necessary without artifice, his themes, which were chosen and represented with rigorous simplicity, immediately connect with our emotions.
