URBAIN HUCHET (1930- ) Urbain Huchet is a French artist known for modernist marine, cityscape, figure and genre painting. His distinctive use of color and form is derived from French impressionism. Huchet follows in the footsteps of Gaugin and Emile Bernard, both of whom influenced him a great deal. Many of his paintings are inspired from the markets, peoples and landscapes, which have become very well known worldwide. He has held numerous one man exhibitions during his career, and his works are actively collected.
