Agrume

Born in France in 1993, Agrume began his practice with illustration and very quickly discovered multiple horizons.

Art in an urban setting is then a way to develop his work on sheet, and thus, to confront and connect it to an audience. Cities and their atmospheres, colors or even architecture are so many starting points giving rise to a number of ephemeral stories. Urban practice places its work more firmly in reality and links it to society.

Self-taught, Citrus paints, draws, engraves, glues and writes. An artistic practice that he conceives in its multidisciplinarity.

From a medium and its experience, traces of time and memory, words, are revealed images from which emerges a universe, an atmosphere. A character blends into the atmosphere, into his environment, he does not put himself forward, he exists with those around him. The poetry of an image unfolds and carries an emotion as a banner. It is then that attract and complement each other, dreamlike representations, scenes from tales or sweetness, romantic tones and melancholic atmospheres predominate.

The writing takes an important part in the construction of the graphic work, and it is not uncommon for the image and the text to answer by the intermediary of a title.

This synthesis highlights and questions the place of humans in their universe, their nature and their behaviour, memories and the relationship to time, lies and mystery, animals and plants, ephemeral and beauty. of the moment.
