Perico Pastor (La Seo d'Urgell, 1953) is a catalan painter, draftsman and illustrator. He studied in Barcelona in 1976 and emigrated to New York, where he lived approximately twelve years; there he was very much successful publishing his illustrations in Harper ' s Magazine, Village Voice, Vogue and especially in The New York Times. In 1980 he exposed for the first time in Coffee Cornelia Street , New York, and in 1983 he did it for the first time in the Estampa Gallery, in Madrid. Since then he has not stopped exhibiting in cities like Paris, New York, Tokyo, Miami or Barcelona.

Since 1989 he lives in Barcelona and is completely dedicated to the painting and illustration projects. He realizes articles of opinion and illustrations in El País newspapers, La Vanguardia, El Periódico de Cataluña and the International Herald Tribune. His illustrations have illuminated also books like the Bible, edited by the Catalan Encyclopedia one of his most successful works.

In 1993 the Medalla Morera del Ayuntamiento de Lleida was given to him for his work, and in 1997 he won the special prize in the Fine arts of the Olympian Spanish Committee in the Biennial show of the Sport. With an absolute work, Perico Pastor has found the ideal point of communion between the drawing and the painting, working habitually on paper of little weight, with a few qualities of texture and luminosity that help to promote the graphical values of the Indian ink or the water-color.
