Vladimir Kolosov, Metaphysical landscape with Cecile and Calypso observing the sunset of capitalism

About the artwork

Artwork sold in perfect condition

This spontaneously created painting was inspired by: a) Vladimir's two cats: Cécile (orange) and Calypso (calico) who are very curious about what is going on and b) Jim Ferguson ("Death on the Nile", by Agatha Christie) who observed the crushing of the capitalist system. The artist enjoys combining totally different and unrelated objects and characters in an imaginary world on canvas / countertop, then examining their interactions and behavior. So, in this curious case, Cécile and Calypso observe the sunset of capitalism which lies somewhere behind the horizon which in turn is quite fuzzy and difficult to determine in space and time. The artist invites spectators to enjoy the play of colors and spirits. The viewer is sure to find their own associations with this work.
