“Based on Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix" by the artist Françoise Leblond:

The painting "After Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix" revisited by Françoise Leblond is a captivating work that fuses classical and contemporary art in a daring way. This pictorial composition presents a revolutionary scene, but with a unique twist: anthropomorphic animals take the place of human beings, creating a universe that is both intriguing and full of meaning.

In the foreground, at the heart of the final assault, a crowd of anthropomorphic cats converges towards the viewer, raising a cloud of dust and brandishing weapons. These felines, both determined and courageous, symbolize the strength and determination of the people in the face of injustice and oppression. They carry swords and guns, ready to fight for their freedom.

At the center of this tumultuous scene stands a central figure, a cat woman, who embodies Liberty. She proudly carries a French tricolor (blue, white, red) and a rifle with a bayonet, symbolizing the fight for freedom and equality. She guides the crowd through the barricades, marking the path to Freedom. Its powerful and resolute character recalls the emblematic figure of the original painting.

To the right of Liberty, a young cat embodies rebellious youth. Dressed in a black velvet beret, he evokes the character of Gavroche from Victor Hugo's "Miserables", symbolizing youth engaged in the fight against injustice. Armed with cavalry pistols and shouting a call to fight, he urges the insurgents to fight for their rights and freedom.

Another feline character, with a scarf tied on his head and a blue blouse, represents the temporary worker in Paris. His red shirt and flannel belt evoke the colors of the French flag. Despite his injury on the pavement, he stands up at the sight of Liberty, thus showing the determination of the people to sacrifice for the cause.

Visionary artist Françoise Leblond brings this iconic painting to life using anthropomorphic cats to explore timeless themes such as freedom, revolt and hope. His unique painting technique creates a fascinating blend of classical and contemporary elements, offering a new and thought-provoking perspective on this historic work.

Françoise Leblond's artistic approach is truly exceptional. She plays with established artistic conventions by revisiting the great masterpieces of art with a touch of humor and poetry. His choice of representing anthropomorphic cats both provokes reflection on our relationship to animality and nature, while challenging traditional codes of art.

Ultimately, Françoise Leblond's work is an antidote to the gravity of the modern world. His paintings offer an escape, a moment of relaxation and entertainment, while inviting deep reflection on art, society and the place of the individual in a constantly evolving world. His work transcends artistic barriers to remind us that art can be both light and deeply meaningful, and that creativity can be a powerful agent of change.

Françoise Leblond is a French painter and sculptor, member of the Taylor Foundation. After studying art at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and a diploma in interior architecture at the Académie Charpentier in Paris, she learned the techniques of faux wood and faux marble at the École Blot in Reims, as well as as the art of trompe l'oeil and wall frescoes at IPEDEC in Pantin. She worked as a decorator for architectural firms and for entertainment before devoting herself fully to painting and sculpture in 2002, the year in which she created the Elvina gallery workshop. Since then, she has exhibited her work in France and abroad, with works present in public and private collections.

Artistic approach:

Françoise Leblond, painter and sculptor, is distinguished by an artistic approach that fuses imagination and reality, thus creating a universe where the border between the concrete and the abstract blurs. His works, whether paintings or sculptures, are imbued with a singular aesthetic that invites reflection and escape.

Françoise Leblond's “imaginary realism" paintings reveal a metaphorical quest for reality beyond its tangible appearances. His paintings, imbued with a captivating aesthetic, depict a universe where the strange and the marvelous mingle in a dreamlike dance. Through evocative shapes and suggestive colors, the artist invites the viewer to introspection, to a reassessment of their own perception of the world.

With her “Poetic Abstraction Paintings", Françoise Leblond transports us to a space where color and form unite to evoke pure emotions and a contagious joie de vivre. His fantastical creatures and abstract landscapes are an ode to spontaneity and creative freedom.

His “Poetic Abstraction" sculptures are manifestations of his fertile imagination and technical mastery. Each piece is a celebration of form and space, where the artist plays with materials to bring emotions and stories to life. Françoise Leblond uses materials such as aluminum or stainless steel to create works that are both modern and timeless.

In her paintings “Grands Maîtres revisited" Françoise Leblond plays with the rules of classical and contemporary art with a unique sense of aesthetics With discretion and audacity, she revisits the paintings of great masters to give them new life, thanks to her pictorial technique. She manages to create works of art that are both funny and poetic, while maintaining high standards in the quality of her work.

In her paintings “Anthropomorphic Cats" Françoise Leblond has an innate talent for transforming cats into funny and endearing anthropomorphic characters in her paintings. It gives them a unique personality and endows them with human gestures and behaviors that are both amusing and moving. She paints cats with freedom, without constraint or concern for realism, and this freedom is contagious. She manages to capture their curious nature, their grace and their undeniable charm.

Françoise Leblond was able to create a real world of cat sculptures that reflects her personality and her love of life. Through her stylized cat sculptures, she manages to convey pure and sincere emotion. Each of his works is unique and exudes a singular aura that invites the viewer to let themselves be carried away by their imagination.

Françoise Leblond's sculptures are imbued with a universal language that speaks to all generations. They evoke primary emotions like tenderness, joy, wonder, surprise and curiosity. They are the reflection of an artist who is part of an ancient tradition where art is considered a form of direct communication with the soul of man
